Legislative Priorities
The future of Green Tree should never be decided behind closed doors. We need greater transparency in how we budget, spend, and prioritize major projects. The PennDOT interchange and the pool redesign are clear examples of why early community engagement, thoughtful questions, and active listening are essential.
If elected, I will:
Review our current budget policies and procedures. I will advocate for the finance committee to conduct a thorough review of our budget policies and procedures, compare them to those of peer communities, and identify gaps where we fall short of best practices. I will also ensure we engage residents to understand their expectations for budget communication. Using this input, I will push the committee to develop clear recommendations and a timeline for implementing meaningful improvements.
Strengthen requirements for public comment and community engagement. Right now, the minimum notice and opportunities for public comment required by law leave significant gaps that prevent residents from staying fully informed and connected to decisions that affect them. With the communication tools available today, our policies must be updated to ensure residents are being fully informed, meaningfully engaged, and confident that their government is acting in good faith.
