Thank you, Green Tree!

November 6, 2025

As the Green Tree Unity Campaign comes to a close and our teammates begin their transitions from candidates to community leaders, our hearts are full of gratitude.

Together, we made history!

What began as a dream grew into a movement—one rooted in communication, accountability, and hope for a stronger, more unified Green Tree.

Through your support, we not only ran a successful bipartisan campaign, but we also achieved record voter turnout.

This victory belongs to all of us. Your belief in our mission, your conversations with neighbors, your votes, and your voices made an incredible impact on our commUNITY. Thank you for walking beside us every step of the way.

If you still have a campaign yard sign, you’re welcome to dispose of it at your convenience. If you’d like help with removal, please send us a message on Facebook or email us at greentreeunitycampaign@gmail.com — we’re happy to assist.

Here’s to the next chapter, and to continuing the work we started — together.

Election Results

When we began this journey nine months ago, the General Election felt like a distant dream - something we could see but never actually touch.

And yet, here we are. What began as a small group of neighbors coming together with hope has grown into something truly special. Along the way, neighbors became friends, and friends became family.

But this was never just our story. It was yours too. You stood with us through every high and every low, believing in a vision of local government built on openness, respect, and unity — where every voice matters and every contribution counts, no matter your political background.

We are so deeply grateful for your courage, your trust, and your unwavering support. Thank you for believing in us, and in what’s possible when a community comes together for the common good.

Tonight, as we share these preliminary results, we do so with so much gratitude and appreciation. We are proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re filled with hope for the future we’re building together.

Thank you, Green Tree.

We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Janice Adamski. Her loss is profoundly felt in every corner of our Borough. Jan was more than a neighbor, she was a friend, a champion for our community, and a shining example of dedication and kindness.

Every candidate on the Green Tree Unity Campaign would have been truly honored to serve alongside her in the service of Green Tree. Her legacy of care and commitment will continue to inspire us and our work.

________________________________

Following yesterday’s message from the Green Tree Democratic Committee, we’ve heard from several residents seeking clarity. We completely understand that this has raised questions about the upcoming election and what comes next for our community.

What happens after the election?

1️⃣ In January 2026, those elected will be officially sworn in to their seats on Borough Council.

2️⃣ If Jan is among those elected, her seat will become vacant at that time.

3️⃣ The responsibility will then fall to Council to follow the established process for filling the vacancy.

4️⃣ Ultimately, Council will appoint an individual to serve Jan’s remaining four-year term.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at greentreeunitycampaign@gmail.com. If we do not have the answer, we will contact County Elections for guidance and get back with you.

October 13, 2025

It all began with a shared belief.

The belief that public service means putting people first.

The Green Tree Unity Campaign was born from neighbors who saw the need for change — citizens who believed our Borough deserves leadership that listens and communicates.

What started as a small group of residents standing up for their community has become a movement — one that transcends party lines and puts people before politics.

We are Democrats and Republicans.

We are lifelong residents and new arrivals.

We are parents, professionals, volunteers, and neighbors — united by one goal:

A more transparent, accountable, and connected Green Tree for all.

Because our Borough deserves leaders who show up, listen, and act.

That’s why the Green Tree Unity Campaign is committed to:

  1. Conducting a third-party community climate assessment to truly understand what residents need and value.

  2. Creating a public action plan — with real updates and workshop meetings, visible progress, and open communication.

  3. Reviewing outdated policies to bring Green Tree in line with industry best practices and modern standards.

  4. Standing up for community voices — ensuring every resident has the chance to be heard and respected.

This isn’t politics as usual.

It’s a movement for change.

It’s accountability in action.

It’s Green Tree, United.

Join us — and be part of building a stronger, more connected, and more transparent Green Tree for all.

It all began with a shared belief.

Our candidates traded door knocking for concession stand duty!

Last week, Green Tree Unity Candidates had a blast volunteering at the Green Tree Athletic Association concession stand during fall ball!

It was the perfect chance to connect with families, share key voter information, cheer on our young athletes, and support GAA’s incredible programming—fueled by hot dogs and soft pretzels.

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by and helped make it such a fun night!

Green Tree’s Bus Line #38 Saved from Elimination!!!

For those who have been monitoring the Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) proposed service reductions and line eliminations - putting Green Tree’s bus #38 at risk of elimination - we received some positive news on Friday.

PENNDOT agreed to PRT’s funding request, avoiding service reductions for the next two years!

Thank you to all those who submitted comments, and those who continued advocating for public transit access in Green Tree.

Civic engagement is the backbone of a healthy democracy—and it’s at the heart of the Green Tree Unity Campaign.

Our campaign pillars are built on the foundational belief that an informed and active community is vital to a thriving Green Tree.

Next week marks National Voter Registration Day—a reminder that participation is power.

To honor it, we’ll be at the Green Tree Farmer’s Market on Thursday, September 18, from 5–7pm. We’ll be sharing vital voter information and assisting neighbors in registering to vote so that every voice is heard and represented.

This is more than a campaign event—it’s a chance to strengthen our community together. Join us, take part, and help keep Green Tree’s future in the hands of its people.

Why are we running 5 council candidates?

Did you know, Green Tree Unity Campaign is running 5 candidates for 4 Borough Council seats?

And yes—it’s on purpose.

We fought hard in the primary to make sure you had quality candidates to choose from.

For too long voters have been forced to accept names political insiders unilaterally decided to pick for the ballot. That’s not real choice—and it’s not real democratic representation.

We’re changing that.

By running a bipartisan campaign, we’ve carved out space within a restrictive political system to sincerely put community first.

Each of our Green Tree Unity Campaign candidates share a commitment to community, transparency, accountability, and communication—but each also brings unique experiences and priorities.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll introduce you to every candidate as an individual. Then, it’s up to you—our neighbors and fellow residents—to choose the voices that resonate most with you regardless of political affiliation.

The Green Tree Unity Campaign has a proven track record of successfully working hand-in-hand together, across party lines, exploring new ways to approach longstanding obstacles all for the betterment of a community we love.

No matter which of our candidates you elect, Green Tree wins. Every one of our candidates is ready to serve with integrity, communicate across differences, put constituents first, and deliver real and lasting solutions for Green Tree.

Green Tree UNity Campaign: Stepping Back on the field

We may have been quiet on the sidelines these last few weeks, but trust us — the Green Tree Unity Campaign has been training hard and is ready to hit the ground running for the General Election!

Like any great team, we’ve had a few changes to our roster since the primary.

Those who cheered us on earlier this year know that the incredible Nick Callas narrowly missed the win against incumbent Shannon Barron — by just ONE vote.

While Nick won’t be on the November ballot, his commitment to Green Tree is stronger than ever, and he’s still in the game, advocating for our community every chance he gets.

When the election write-in results came in, we saw an opening — a need for stronger representation on the School Board. After a huddle, one of our candidates made the strategic decision to shift positions, stepping away from the Borough Council race to take on a critical role as the Democrat/Republican School Board Candidate.

With his past school board experience and passion for the Green Tree community, Chris Cratsley was the clear choice to take on this exciting challenge. We’re backing Chris all the way — we know he’ll be a winning asset for Green Tree families.

Here’s the final Green Tree Unity Campaign lineup for November:

August 13, 2025

Council Candidates ---

Christopher Alan Cropp (D)

Tina Gdovic (D)

Andrew Grab (R)

Kara Martorella (R)

David Rea (R)

Mayoral Candidate ---

Chris Cratsley (D/R)

Election Results

Every Vote Counts — And This Election Proved It.

Election results have been updated from “unofficial” to “preliminary,” and we now have a clearer picture of where things stand. After counting provisional ballots, the race tightened even more — with the fourth Democratic spot for the general election coming down to just one vote.

Yes, ONE VOTE made the difference. If this primary reminded us of anything, it's how powerful a single voice can be in a local election.

The same candidates we announced previously are still in the race, and we’ll continue to keep you posted as results become official and we learn more about the open school board seat.

In the meantime, our team is taking a short pause to regroup and plan for the November general election. We’re fired up and ready to move forward — and we’ll need your help to do it.

Volunteer opportunities are coming soon, and we will announce different ways to get involved as the summer unfolds.

Thank you, Green Tree, for showing up, speaking out, and believing in the power of community. This campaign is just getting started — and we’re so glad you’re with us.

Thank you For Your Support!

We are so immensely humbled by — and grateful for — all the voters who came out to the polls to support the Green Tree Unity Campaign.

This has been the most incredible journey. From the earliest of conversations, we could not have foreseen what this idea would become. It was always destined to be more than a political campaign — it was destined to be movement.

Thank you for believing in us, thank you for believing in our vision. A vision where candidates are measured by their commitment to community — to their neighbors — and not by the political designation placed by their name.

We are already so excited by the results coming in, and will share the final totals once all votes are counted.

Thank you, Green Tree!

Tomorrow is election day!

Tomorrow is the day that has consumed our thoughts, elevated our heart rates, and captivated our dreams: Primary Election Day.

What began so many months ago as a simple conversation about the future of Green Tree has grown into something powerful — a movement rooted in hope, driven by purpose, and carried by countless voices united for change.

We envisioned a local "government of the people, by the people, for the people". A future where citizens don’t simply get governed — they help shape the governance.

And we were never alone. So many of you stood with us — amplifying the call, adding strength to our message, and proving that together, we are powerful.

Regardless of tomorrow’s outcome when the polls close at 8PM, one thing is certain: we’ve already created something remarkable — TOGETHER.

We’ve asked the tough questions, challenged the status quo, and looked deeply at how our system can better serve the people of Green Tree.

When it was time to act, we stepped forward with courage. And when we were told the system would never change, we pushed harder to bend it toward justice. When the road was riddled with boulders, we banded together – lifting each other over the hardships and continuing on in our journey.

We showed up — for our neighbors, for our community, and for the future we believe in.

So tomorrow, we’ll meet again — not just as voters, but as friends, neighbors, and fellow dreamers.

We’ll see you tomorrow at the polls, Green Tree.
