I envision a Green Tree where generations come together, neighbors are united through shared service, and our collective commitment ensures we leave our borough stronger than we found it. By deepening the connection between residents and council, creating new avenues for civic engagement, and investing in the next generation of leaders, we can shape a future rooted in collaboration and respect. Together, we can build a Green Tree where every voice matters, every idea has value, and progress is something we create, side by side.
If elected, I will:
1. Establish a Resident-Led Advisory Committee
Draft and introduce a resolution creating a standing Resident Advisory Committee to serve as a formal link between residents and council.
Define membership structure to ensure diverse representation across neighborhoods, age groups, and community interests.
The committee will meet monthly and present quarterly reports to Borough Council.
Council will provide administrative support (meeting space, communications, technical support) to ensure the committee can operate effectively.
2. Expand Volunteer Opportunities for Youth Engagement
Develop a Youth Community Service Program in partnership with Keystone Oaks Schools to connect middle and high school students with meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Organize structured opportunities such as:
Community clean-up days
Senior assistance (yard work, errands, home maintenance help)
Borough event support (set-up, registration, activity staffing)
Babysitting nights during council meetings (held in borough facilities with proper safeguards)
Youth-led service or improvement projects coordinated through the advisory committee.
Track student volunteer hours and provide official recognition (certificates, award nights, letters of recommendation from Borough Council).
3. Build the Next Generation of Civic Leaders
Create a Youth Liaison Role within the Resident Advisory Committee for high school and college students to directly participate in Borough decision-making conversations.
Sponsor an annual Youth in Government Day where students shadow Borough Council members and learn about municipal governance.
Explore partnerships with civic organizations to offer leadership workshops and mentorship opportunities for young volunteers..
