CHris Cratsley

School Board Candidate

Democrat/Republican

I believe every decision we make as a school district should strengthen the connection between students, families, teachers, and our community. Our schools should be places where children feel safe, supported, and celebrated; where teachers are valued; and where families know their voices matter. With my experience, my problem-solving mindset, and my deep investment as a parent, I am committed to building a district that reflects the pride and potential of every student.

My priorities focus on creating safer spaces, recognizing achievements, fostering respectful collaboration, and uniting schools with the broader Green Tree community.

What I Bring to the Table

  • Invested Parent: With four children currently spread across the Keystone Oaks School District (Fred Aiken Elementary, KO Middle School, and KO High School), I’ll be directly connected to the district for nearly my entire term. Parents and teachers will see me at events, and I’ll be accessible and approachable.

  • Board & Education Experience: I’ve served on a school board before and come from a family with several teachers. I understand how board decisions impact classrooms, families, and faculty, not just on paper, but in real life.

  • Problem-Solver & Analyst: From managing restaurants to working as a systems and IT analyst, I know how to break down complex issues, identify what matters most, and collaborate on practical solutions. I’ll use these skills to work effectively with fellow board members and administrators.

Issues We Face and How I’ll Approach Them

  • Aiken’s Playground: Every child deserves a safe place to play. I’ll push for a plan to bring the playground up to code and partner with the community to make it a welcoming space for all students.

  • Athletic and Academic Recognition: Our students and student athletes work hard and represent our district with pride. I’ll help create systems, in partnership with booster clubs and school leaders, that ensure their accomplishments are celebrated.

  • Teacher Contract Renewal: Our teachers are the heart of our schools. I’ll advocate for respectful, proactive engagement so contract negotiations build trust and fairness.

  • Partnership with Green Tree Borough: Strong schools and a strong community go hand in hand. I’ll strengthen collaboration with the Borough Council so facilities, safety, and programs serve both students and residents..
