I moved to Green Tree in 2020 with my wife and 2 young sons when we purchased my wife’s family home. We always knew we would raise our children here, with the beautiful parks, incredible elementary school, and active community.
Shortly after moving to Green Tree, I became heavily involved in the community through coaching youth sports and joining our incredible volunteer fire department. My dedication to protecting and serving our community led to me to be named the “Top Responder” in the fire department for the past 3 years.
I do not shy away from the discomforts of duty, and I certainly do not shy away from the challenge and responsibility that comes with the title of Green Tree Borough Council Member.
I am running for Borough Council alongside a group of unified Democrats and Republicans, connected by a commitment to enhance communications between the borough government and borough residents, increase accountability for council actions, and implement industry best practices designed to enable transparency.
We come together under the shared belief that public servants must prioritize the needs of the citizens over the needs of a political party.
I grew up in Carrick, and bought my first home in Beechview. Living in the city, with council members often disconnected from the needs of the residents and unavailable to address our concerns, I experienced firsthand the toll their carelessness took on our community’s morale and wellbeing.
Over the past five years, I watched our Borough Council move further and further away from the voices of their constituents, the voices of their neighbors. Now, operating in a distinctly separate space from their constituents, our council members have grown all too comfortable in making unilateral decisions while ignoring citizen comments and input.
When over 400 residents voiced concerns about the pool project, I listened as council dismissed their unified message to pause the pool project and seek additional community engagement.
As a resident of Green Tree, and an active 1st alarm member of the fire department who loves this Borough immensely, it is embarrassing to see members of our elected council make decisions, which have long-lasting ramifications on the community, with a clear indifference to the residents' needs and desires.
Their silence and inaction became my call to serve.
Our community deserves a council filled with individuals who work to make our borough a thriving and welcoming Green Tree for all.
Thank you for your time, your consideration and hopefully your support.
